  Image Maps Back Next

Image maps are a sophisticated way to present information on your website.

Image Maps
Image maps are graphics with web addresses hidden behind different areas of the image. Depending on where you click, you can link to a different web page or a different place on the current page.

Server-side image maps describe the first maps available on the Web. They required that the server for the web page send a new page to the user based on where the user clicked in their browser.

Client-side image maps allow you to code all the information for links into your HTML page. The web browser (the client) then determines which page to request.
